[Background] heeeere

[Personality] If the very base of a weapon's and meister's success and strength is cooperation, then Tsubaki is the very personification of this sort of relationship. Her soul is described as "very cooperative with a lot of space to accept people", and this isn't hard to see. Her very partnership with Black*Star is indicative of this. His personality is loud, obnoxious, and she clearly finds him hard to handle sometimes, and Maka wonders once why Tsubaki chose him when she could probably partner with anyone she wants. But as Tsubaki says later, his personality—which she merely describes as "completely silly"—is fine to her just as it is, and that is their style of partnership.

With Black☆Star, Tsubaki yields to his orders most of the time (as is considered a weapon's duty to be the more passive and let the meister make the decisions), and she finds herself constantly apologising for his faults and scenes even if she has nothing to do with it. Even unrelated to their partnership she'll cook for him, reward and cajole him into studying. For reasons like this she is sometimes considered a pushover. Her brother Masamune the Demon Sword mocked her most notably for this for being the "scentless flower": a play on her name, which refers to the camellia flower and is known both for being scentless and being "sad even in death". As a child, she hid her own emotions and desires to adjust for her brother's—perhaps out of pity for her inheriting the ability he should have had, but perhaps in her basic "scentless" personality.

However, as Tsubaki argued back, the camellia—or at least she herself—does have a "scent". While her personality is generally passive, it is not pushed around. Shinigami-sama observed that while Tsubaki is a powerful weapon, her greatest strength also lies in her soul. She screamed to Masamune that she did have a scent and that she would defeat him no matter what, killing her own brother as she had been prepared to do from the beginning despite how hard it would be. As Shinigami-sama said, she is someone who "doesn't make decisions rashly and is even prepared to die"—definitely not the makings of a pushover. When push comes to shove, Tsubaki will put her foot down and will make the judgements she sees to be best.

It is rare that she does this when Black☆Star gives her an order, for she is a a weapon and he the meister, so she must generally trust his judgement even when she finds it dangerous. However, when she judges his life is seriously at stake she is known to refuse an order, caring more for his safety than for their relationship as weapon and meister. This is only one way that shows how much he means to her. She can see past a lot of his facades, knowing that he doesn't want to stand out by people's having a grudge against him but rather for being someone to admire. She was unable to hide her emotions about her fight with her brother around him even though she tried, breaking down and crying in his arms. She's admitted to wanting to go "a step further" with Black☆Star for she can be herself around him, not hiding her emotions like she typically does around others. She gets irritated with him when he's inappropriate, calls him embarrassing when he goes home with her, and yet she's clearly proud to have him as a partner.

When Liz praises Patti, Tsubaki says she'd be the same about Black☆Star. She defends him to Maka and makes the claim that friends don't have to understand each other completely all the time. She's the most mature of her friends, often resolving conflicts (and occasionally losing her temper when she finds they're too out of line, like when Maka and Soul argue—another situation that shows her cooperative soul, when she yells that no one will get anywhere because two people refuse to listen to the other's opinion). And when she shares a serious moment with Black☆Star, she teases him for it rather than blushing or being unsure how to react, showing her confidence in their relationship. She knows how he is and will even gently prod him back to his obnoxious self. He is the most important person to her, and she trusts him completely.

But Tsubaki has the ability to see the good in anyone, not just her loud and irritating partner. She does her best to talk Mifune into joining Shibusen, for example, and appeals to Shinigami-sama to forgive Kim and Angela for the crime of being witches, knowing that their hearts were in the right places. She does seem to be the "gentlest" in a way of her teammates, playing with Fire and Thunder and earning Angela's trust enough to be asked about whether or not Mifune will return. She likes cooking and cleaning, and she blushed when Mifune called her a good sword.

However, Tsubaki seems to have confidence in her ability to form a strong partnership with Black☆Star, claiming that enemies numbered at 300 didn't "seem a problem". She's determined in battle and quick enough to make decisions when Black☆Star sometimes fails, though mostly to protect his life rather than make the offensive decisions—though she will occasionally do this too, or call openings to his attention.

Tsubaki does also have a very interesting side to her that is not shown until her trip into the Book of Eibon when the chapter of lust switches everyone's gender. Upon learning that the most lustful among them will be the last to return to his or her original sex, Tsubaki immediately becomes terrified that she will be embarrassed by being the last one standing—and indeed she even outlasts Liz, proving that, despite her quiet and reserved demeanour, Tsubaki is actually the most lustful amongst the Spartoi group. It could be because she's simply one of the oldest and simply has the most active hormones, but it's still very interesting to note that she even beat out Liz for the title.

Despite Tsubaki's less than demure parts of her personality, however, they are not the bases for her behaviour. In general she is calm, rational, and apologetic—a very traditional Japanese girl, one might say—but beneath that she truly does have a strong, trusting, and overall good soul.

[Specialties/Abilities] Tsubaki is, most simply, a "Weapon", one with the ability to transform into a literal weapon and be wielded by a Meister. Her standard form is that of a chain scythe, but she inherited the special ability of the Nakatsukasa family, to transform into any of the weapon forms that belonged to family members before her: ninja sword, smoke bomb, shuriken, etc.

In one of the forms she can take, that of her brother's "demon sword" that she gained upon defeating him and taking his soul, Tsubaki also gains the ability to control shadows and make them solid and tangible. She can only do this while in the form of this sword (and in Somarium this won't happen without other players' consent :|b). She uses this ability to control Black*Star's shadow and improve his speed, defence, and attack.

As Tsubaki was able to fight soul to soul with her brother, she can also perform soul resonance with her meister. This allows her to synchronise her soul wavelength with Black*Star's for more powerful techniques. Tsubaki has also learned how to perform a chain resonance with her teammates (mainly Maka, Soul, Patti, Kid, and Liz) for enhanced performance as a group in battle.

[Affection] Tsubaki won't be particularly physically affectionate with anyone, though you're free to see how she'd react to hugging or back-patting or whatever.

[Fighting] Tsubaki could technically hold her own in a fight--her physical prowess is good, and she'd be able to turn her ponytail into the end of her chain scythe weapon--but chances are she won't be fighting unless Black*Star is wielding her as his weapon.

[Other Permissions] Go for whatever. Talk to me if it's iffy, but I'm open. /o/

[Other Facts] As a weapon she has an accepting soul wavelength and could probably match with other people (she resonated with Maka reasonably well once), but her meister is Black*Star, so she'll be loyal to him.
